In a time of tariffs and global disturbances, this year’s Nobel award came as a blessing in disguise. The prize was announced on 13th October 2025. The three awarded economists are Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion, and Peter Howitt. The award recognized their work on innovation in economic growth.

Nobel Prize Winners for Economics in 2024.

The Nobel prize for 2024 for Economics is said to be announced on October 14, 2024. The prizes were given to James Robinson, Simon Johnson and Daron Acemoglu. Interesting fact is that both Johnson and Acemoglu ‘re colleagues at the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), while Robinson is a professor at the University of Chicago.

The committee awarded all three economists, for their work on the ‘impact of institutions and the rule of law in the nation’s prosperity.’ Their work showed immense level of empirical and theoretical analysis of the understanding of the global inequality. Read more
